Earlier this month, three intrepid friends from Wirral completed a skydive to raise almost £2000 of much-needed funds for us. 

Despite a nerve-wracking wait – the trio were originally meant to jump at 2 pm, but ultimately didn’t take the plunge until 6 pm – Andrew Brough, Amanda Griffiths and Kate Duffy thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were delighted to have raised so much money for Stick ‘n’ Step.

We had an absolutely incredible time, so much so, we all wanted to do it all again. It was so amazing accelerating to freefall through the clouds and then floating down with fantastic views over Merseyside. 

I have been volunteering at a number of Stick ‘n’ Step events over the last couple of years. I have always wanted to do a skydive, so when I found out that the skydive was one of the charity’s fundraising events, I managed to convince a couple of my friends to do it with me.

 Our Corporate Fundraiser, Jo Fowler, said,

We try and ensure we have a wide range of fundraising opportunities taking place throughout the year. The skydive always proves to be a popular fundraiser – both for the people taking part and the ones sponsoring them to do it. We have huge respect for all our volunteers – and even more when they go out of their way to fundraise for us too. Well done to Andrew, Amanda and Kate.
