We’ve got our annual golf event down to a tee!

152 golfers took part in our annual golf day earlier this month at Pryors Hayes Golf Club in Cheshire. 38 four ball teams took part in the event, with players coming from all around the UK. Over £22,300 was raised for us!

The winning team, who walked away with the prize of a new golf bag each, was captained by Steve Ogilby, St James Place. His fellow team members were local businessman Dave Wilkie, Jeremy Ennion from funeral directors Kenna & Turner and Lee Cochrane.

Sporting stars taking part in the golf day included former Everton player Derek Mountfield, Alan McInally, former Scottish Football player and professional football manager Mick McCarthy.

Sky Sports commentator Rob Palmer organised the day once more in his role as our ambassador.

The event was followed by the traditional evening’s entertainment and auction to boost our fundraising efforts still further.

Our Interim CEO, Sarah Smithson, said,

The sun shone, the players excelled themselves and our supporters turned out in force to make this another fantastic event to remember. Pryors Hayes did an amazing job to prepare the course perfectly for us once more, despite the very wet weather there has been. On behalf of Stick ‘n’ Step, I’d like to thank everyone who has again helped us raise much needed funds for the children who attend our centres, and their families.
